Carrickfergus Grammar Alumni

As Principal of Carrickfergus Grammar School, I am always delighted to see past pupils returning, whether as parents themselves who have made the decision to send their own children to the school, whether as presenters or speakers, or whether as guests at one of our many events during the year. I am always pleased to see past pupils looking for their photos on the school walls which document our history, and am always interested in hearing the many stories of being a previous student at the school. Stories which are often relayed with much pride. The links with past pupils are a constant reminder of the ‘family-feel’ of this school, and the warmth of relationships which exist between staff and pupils.
I hope that the Alumni Portal may give you as a past pupil a chance to re-kindle acquaintances and / or friendships with people with whom you shared corridors and classrooms.

 

Carrickfergus Grammar School is keen to develop robust and extensive links with its alumni. As a forward-facing, ambitious and aspirational school, we also understand the importance of tapping into the power, knowledge and skills of our alumni in order to support current and future pupils, not least through the wealth of experience our illustrious alumni may bring in terms of careers advice and guidance, but also in terms of the potential for strengthening community links. The CGS Alumni Portal allows us as a school to build up a database of alumni – an alumni which naturally has a vested interest in the school’s development and success. The Portal allows for greater communication with past pupils about the school’s aims and ambitions.
